Shelley Stromple, President
As the President of TurnKey Benefits, Inc., Shelley is a trusted Benefits Consultant to many companies.
She is a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. As a former teacher and business owner she has a
unique understanding of how important a sound strategy can be when it comes to employee benefits. Shelley started TurnKey Benefits
in 1998. She has grown her business by focusing on nurturing the relationships that she has with her clients and focusing on their
individuals needs and concerns. She continues to stay on the forefront of the employee benefits industry by staying up to date with
new developments in the marketplace.
Mark McLean, Vice President
Mark is Vice President of Business Development for the Key Family of Companies. Mark joined the company in 1992 coming from Johnson & Higgins,
an international brokerage firm, where he was a senior group benefits consultant. He has a very broad perspective on group benefit issues and
is extremely capable in identifying sound and innovative solutions to client needs and concerns. Previous to J&H, Mark was in group benefits
sales with Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he majored in Insurance and
Economic Security. He is certified as a Chartered Life Underwriter. Mark joined the Key Family in August 1992.
Carla Hartsoe, VP of Client Relations
Carla Hartsoe is Vice President of Client Relations for TurnKey Benefits. She works closely with the Account Management Team to maintain the service and relationship with current clients. Carla came to TurnKey Benefits from our sister company, Key Benefit Administrators, where she has worked in the client relations arena since July 1998. She has a very broad perspective on group benefit issues and is very capable of identifying solutions to clients needs and concerns. Prior to her arrival at KBA, she worked for a local Third Party Administrator based in South Carolina. There, she worked as a provider network contractor for the TPA owned and operated PPO and HMO networks. Carla began her career in the insurance/health care industry by receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Administration from Winthrop University. Carla and her husband, Dwayne, have a son and a daughter and live in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
John Smith, New Business Development
John joined Turnkey from First Charter Bank (Insurance Services) where he was a producer providing financial solutions to banking customers using Insurance programs as the vehicle. Before First Charter John was a partner in Carolina Benefit Designs, Inc. a wholesale insurance agency. John was the VP of marketing and sales to include oversight of the enrollment division. John brings a unique combination to Turnkey Benefits with his core benefit communication experience and knowledge on both sides’ retail and wholesale of the Insurance business. John is a graduate of Western Carolina University, and is married to Katie Smith with 2 children.
Gail Hunter-Hill, Agency Manager
Gail joined TurnKey in July of 2008 after working for Hewitt Associates, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and CIGNA Healthcare for over 25 years. Gail’s insurance, management and operations experience brings the ability for TKB to continually improve our business model to better serve our clients. Gail attended Seminole Community College and the University of Florida before relocating to the Charlotte area.
Jill Sturm, Benefit Consultant
Jill joined TurnKey Benefits on 12/1/2008. After getting a degree in Financial Services from Stark State College, Jill went to work for New York Life as an agent and obtained her Life and Health and Series 6 License. In 2007, Jill moved to Leonard Insurance Service, the largest broker in NE Ohio, to become an Account Manager and obtained her RHU. Jill relocated to North Carolina in late 2008 and handles client services for many of TurnKey clients.
Vanessa Anzola, Benefit Consultant
Vanessa joined TurnKey Benefits on September 2009. After getting her Bachelors degree in Finance and Human Resources from University of North Carolina at Charlotte she went to work for CBIZ Benefits and Insurance as an Account Manager and obtained her NC Life & Health License. She comes to us with great enthusiasm and is bilingual. Her daily responsibilities at Turnkey include: servicing client benefit programs, providing detailed research and resolution to client questions and claim inquiries, employee education, and proactive communication with clients and carriers to identify potential challenges and develop preventive long-term solutions.
Kathy Guiliano, Executive Assistant
Kathy has over 15 years experience in managed care organizations. Kathy is instrumental in helping TurnKey prepare marketing and client materials, answering client calls and all facets of support for the sales and client services staff. Kathy joined TurnKey in January of 2008 after a long career with CorVel Corporation.
